About
Scripture • Study • Formation
Daily Bread Intake was created to help believers engage Scripture not merely as information to consume, but as spiritual nourishment to receive. In a world filled with distraction, noise, and endless content, this project seeks to invite people back into a slower, deeper, and more intentional relationship with the Word of God.
Throughout Scripture, God’s Word is repeatedly described as nourishment for the soul. Jesus reminded us that “man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” In the wilderness, God provided manna daily for His people, teaching them to depend on Him one day at a time. Jesus Himself declared, “I am the bread of life.” These images remind us that Scripture is not simply something to study. It is something that sustains us, forms us, and draws us into the life of God.
Daily Bread Intake exists to create space for that kind of daily engagement with Scripture.
From Book Concept to Online Resource
Daily Bread Intake was originally developed as a companion volume to my other devotional guides, including Daily Psalt Intake, Daily Sage Intake, and Daily Strength Training. The vision was to create a unified collection of resources that would help believers engage Scripture and prayer through simple daily rhythms that could be sustained over time. Each resource was designed to encourage consistent spiritual nourishment through prayer, reflection, worship, wisdom, and the Word of God.
As the project developed, it became clear that Daily Bread Intake would be far more practical and accessible in a digital format. Because this resource is centered around daily Scripture readings, the ability to move directly into the passages through links creates a much more seamless experience for readers. Rather than navigating printed page numbers or searching for passages manually, visitors can simply click and enter directly into the readings for the day.
For that reason, Daily Bread Intake now exists as an online resource. In this format, it remains true to its original purpose while offering a more flexible and user friendly way to engage Scripture each day.
A Scripture and Formation Platform
This growing platform brings together Bible reading, prayer, reflection, Christian practices, and historic Christian resources into one connected environment designed to encourage spiritual formation and attentiveness to God’s presence in everyday life. Rather than approaching the Bible only as a reference tool or academic resource, Daily Bread Intake encourages believers to slow down, listen carefully, pray thoughtfully, and allow Scripture to shape the heart over time.
Within this platform, visitors will find access to daily Scripture readings, Daily Office resources, public domain commentaries, Christian formation materials, reading pathways, and tools designed to help believers develop sustainable rhythms of prayer and Scripture engagement. Over time, additional features and resources will continue to be added in order to support individuals, churches, ministry leaders, and students who desire to grow deeper in their walk with Christ.
Daily Bread Intake is part of the broader Church Encourager ecosystem, which exists to encourage believers, strengthen ministry leaders, support spiritual formation, and provide accessible Christian education through initiatives such as the Christian Practices Initiative and the Online Bible Institute Network. This project reflects a growing desire to integrate Scripture, prayer, learning, and spiritual practices into one unified pathway that helps people not simply know more about God, but become more attentive to His presence and more formed into the image of Christ.
Whether you are here to read Scripture, pray through the Daily Office, explore Christian practices, study historic commentaries, or simply create healthier rhythms of daily spiritual nourishment, our hope is that Daily Bread Intake becomes a place of encouragement, reflection, and renewal.
We invite you to slow down, open the Scriptures, and daily receive the nourishment God desires to give through His Word.
