A Psalm of Asaph. The nations, O God, have invaded Your inheritance; they have defiled Your holy temple and reduced Jerusalem to rubble. / They have given the corpses of Your servants as food to the birds of the air, the flesh of Your saints to the beasts of the earth. / They have poured out their blood like water all around Jerusalem, and there is no one to bury the dead.

The Jews: Denunciations Against Those Who: Slaughtered Ezekiel 35:5, 6

Because you harbored an ancient hatred and delivered the Israelites over to the sword in the time of their disaster at the final stage of their punishment, / therefore as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I will give you over to bloodshed and it will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, it will pursue you.
